WordPress development
Custom WordPress development without the usual limitations.
I have built on WordPress for more than 12 years, within 18+ years of professional web development. Custom themes, native Gutenberg blocks, plugins, WooCommerce and integrations with the systems your business already runs on, engineered so the site is fast, secure and easy for you to edit.
Original, not assembled
Designed and built for your business, not adapted from a template.
Every theme I build starts from your content, your customers and the jobs the website has to do. The design is original and the code underneath it is written for the project, which is why the sites are fast, why they rank, and why they are still easy to change years later.
I have used most of the ways of building custom WordPress sites, from ACF flexible content to native Gutenberg blocks and ACF blocks, and I pick the approach that gives you the best editing experience and gives your users the fastest site.

Developer or implementer
The difference between a WordPress developer and a page-builder implementer.
In your search for a freelance WordPress developer you will find people who describe themselves as developers but mainly assemble pages in a builder. A good-looking site matters, and some of those sites look fine. The limitation shows when the business needs something the builder does not do, when the site slows down under the weight of the plugins holding it together, or when a redesign means starting again.
I am a full-stack developer. I design and build the front end, and I write the theme, plugin and integration code behind it. That means custom functionality gets built rather than bodged with plugins, speed is designed in rather than patched afterwards, and the site is structured so your search visibility survives the changes that come later.
If you need more than a drag-and-drop implementation, such as complex, custom solutions and third-party integrations, this is the work I do.
Beyond WordPress
Although I specialise in custom WordPress design and development, I am also well versed in Laravel, React and other frameworks. When a project needs an application, a portal or a product behind the website, I build it myself rather than handing it off.
Automation, where it helps
Where a repetitive process can be automated with an API or an AI service, I can build that too, as part of the site or alongside it. It is a way of reducing your workload, not a selling point.
You stay in control
Custom does not mean you need me for every change.
You own an editable, maintainable website. Text, images, pages and the sections that make them up are yours to change in the WordPress editor, using purpose-built blocks with a handful of controls rather than a wall of settings.
The code is documented, versioned and written to WordPress standards, so another competent developer could take it on. I would rather earn the ongoing relationship than engineer it.
